Date and Walnut Cake

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 200 grams of butter
  • 350 grams (2 and a half cups) of flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 60 grams (1/2 cup) powdered sugar
  • 200 grams of sour cream
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • For the filling – anything you like:
  • 1. Nutella \ date spread \ jam \ dolce de lacha
  • 2. 2 egg whites + half a cup of sugar are whipped together
  • 3. Coconut \ cinnamon \ nuts

For decoration:

  • powdered sugar

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix butter, sugar and egg whites.
  2. Add sour cream, vanilla extract, salt and powdered sugar to the batter.
  3. Finally, flour and baking powder are used until you get a soft and pleasant dough.
  4. Cool the dough in the refrigerator for about 1/2 hour.
  5. Divide the dough into 3 parts and roll each part into a rectangle about 3 mm thick.
  6. Spread about 1/3 of the filling on each rectangle in an even and thin layer.
  7. Spread 1/3 of the whipped cream on each rectangle.
  8. Sprinkle some coconut/cinnamon or nuts in an even layer.
  9. Roll up and place in intervals on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  10. Heat the oven to 170 degrees.
  11. Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until they are golden.
  12. Cool completely and slice into cookies.
  13. Decorate with powdered sugar and serve.
