Sesame Meatball Buns

Sesame meatball buns are a delicious snack or light meal that combines soft and puffy dough with juicy meatballs. They offer the perfect blend of comfort and elegance and make a wonderful addition to your dinner table.

Ingredients:

For dough:

1 kg of flour

17 grams of dry yeast

120 ml olive oil (half a cup)

120 grams of date syrup or honey (1/3 cup)

480 ml cold water (2 cups)

20 grams of salt (2 teaspoons)

Sesame seeds for coating the dough

For the meatballs:

  • 1/2 kg ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 white onion
  • A bunch of finely chopped parsley
  • Half a bunch of finely chopped dill
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 3 branches of celery
  • Zucchini, potato, sweet potato or any other vegetable
  • A teaspoon of dry chilli
  • A teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of cumin

Instructions:

For dough:

  1. Knead all the dough ingredients for about fifteen minutes.
  2. Shape into a ball, transfer to a greased bowl and let rise for about an hour until doubled in volume.
  3. Divide into balls of equal size (about 60 grams per ball).
  4. Roll each ball, season with water and then with sesame.
  5. Arrange in an oven tray lined with baking paper in spaces and let rise for another half an hour.
  6. Make a hole in the center of each ball to insert the fish patty using the bottom of a small glass.

For the meatballs:

  1. Grind all the vegetables in a food processor and mix them with the meat and egg to a uniform mixture.
  2. Put a meatball in each bun.
  3. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Turbo for about half an hour.
