Baklava with Nut Filling

Thin layers of phyllo dough filled with a mixture of walnuts, cinnamon and sweet syrup

 The easiest way to make baklava ever. You will be amazed at how quickly and easily you can make this recipe.

Ingredients:

To make the syrup:

  • Boil 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of lemon, and 1 tablespoon of rose blossoms in a pot until it thickens. Once done, set it aside to cool. 
  • A package of phyllo dough thawed overnight in the refrigerator.
  • 150 grams of melted butter.

For the filling:

  • 300 grams of walnuts.
  • 150 grams of sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoon of cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oven to 170 degrees.
  2. For The stuffing: 
  3. Place all the stuffing ingredients in a food processor with a steel blade and grind coarsely.
  4. Cut your phyllo dough sheets into half.
  5. Place the first half into your baking pan. 
  6. Pour your Walnut mixture on top of it.
  7. Place the other half of the filler dough.
  8. Cut it with a Sharp knife into a small portion.
  9. Pour all your melted butter over the filler sheet. 
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes until brown.
  11. Once your baklava is ready, while still hot, generously pour the sugar syrup over it and hear the bubbly, satisfying sounds.
