Butter-Layered Bun

This warm, golden treat is a delightful craving! Each layer melts in your mouth, soft, flaky, and rich in buttery goodness

Ingredients:

  • 400g flour
  • 300ml warm milk
  • 40g sugar
  • 8g salt
  • 40g butter (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp dry yeast

Layers:

  • 60g butter (room temperature)

Instructions:

  1. Mix yeast and sugar into warm milk; let sit for 5 minutes to activate
  2. Add flour and salt, then knead the dough. Gradually incorporate the butter until smooth
  3. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes
  4. Roll the dough into a rectangle and cut it into eight equal pieces. Grease each piece with butter, roll into logs, and freeze for 25 minutes
  5. Roll each log lengthwise, stretch, and make cuts on top, then place on baking sheet
  6. Let the rolls rise until doubled in size (about 1.5 to 2 hours at room temp or 20°C)
  7.  Preheat the oven to 180°C
  8. Brush tops with egg yolk and milk mixture
  9. Bake until golden brown
