A festive and impressive appearance of bread, it’s easy to make and soo cute!
Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 500g flour
- 1 egg
- 70g sugar
- 270ml cold milk
- 1 tbsp dry yeast
- 100g cold butter cubes
- 1 tsp salt
For the filling:
- 100g dark/milk chocolate
- 100g butter
- 50g cocoa
- 150g sugar
- 300g Nutella spread
- 100g ground almonds
- 3 tbsp almond butter
For the sugar water:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water

Instructions:
- Mix all dough ingredients except the butter and salt in a mixer
- When the dough comes together, gradually add the butter and salt
- Knead for about 15 more minutes
- Let rise until the dough doubles in size – or place in the refrigerator to rise overnight
- Melt the chocolate and butter in the microwave in 30-second pulses
- Mix the remaining filling ingredients together
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle and spread a thick layer of the filling onto it
- Imagining that the dough is split into thirds, fold the outer thirds into the center and roll into a long rectangle
- Cut into long, narrow triangles and roll from the wide side to the point, gently stretching the edge
- Let it rise for 30 minutes outside, then bake at 300F until a beautiful colour is achieved
- While baking, prepare the sugar water, then brush the finished rugelach with as much sugar water as you like according to your preferred level of sweetness
