A traditional Japanese rice snack, brought straight to your home and kitchen!
Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 110g glutinous rice flour
- 30g cornstarch
- 30g granulated sugar
- 170ml milk
- 20g unsalted butter
- Red food colouring
For the filling:
- 250g heavy cream
- 50g cream cheese
- 30g vanilla instant pudding
- 150g fresh strawberries (chopped)

Instructions:
Dough:
- In a clean bowl, mix the glutinous rice flour, cornstarch, sugar, milk, and red food colouring well.
- Cover with plastic and make a few holes with a toothpick
- Cook in the microwave for 3.5 minutes
- Let it chill, then add the butter and knead well
- Dust your working surface with more glutinous rice flour; knead the dough until it becomes very stretchy. Divide the dough into 6-8 equal pieces and roll them into round flat sheets
Filling:
- In a clean bowl, mix softened cream cheese and sugar, then add heavy cream and pudding
- Beat them together till stiff peaks form
Assembly:
- Place a piece of dough over a small shot glass, pressing the centre slightly in. Pipe in the filling, some strawberry pieces, then cover with more whipped cream
- Wrap the mochi ball up, removing excess dough (you can mix the remainders back together to make more balls)
- Put into cupcake liner and serve
