Cheese and Herb Borek

A savory Middle-Eastern pastry served at breakfast, brunch, or as a snack – easy to make with an irresistible crisp and rich flavor

Ingredients:

  • Puff pastry
  • A mix of hard cheeses – feta, cottage cheese – everything in the fridge
  • Handful of chopped herbs – basil, oregano, green onion – or anything else you like
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • Chopped garlic clove
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Egg for brushing
  • Sesame

Instructions:

  1. Heat oven to 400F
  2. Cut dough into squares
  3. Mix the cheeses with the corn flour
  4. Add the herbs, garlic and spices
  5. Put a tbsp of filling in the center of each square and fold it into a triangle
  6. Brush with egg
  7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds
  8. Bake until golden
